V.Ships Leisure: Managing the Eleanor Roosevelt
In March 2021, V.Ships Leisure will assume crew management for the ELEANOR ROOSEVELT, the first ‘fast ferry’ in the world with dual natural gas engines.
The newly built BALEÀRIA vessel includes a number of state-of-the-art features aimed at optimising passenger experience, such as spacious interior design with enhanced room between seats, and a state-of-the-art stabilisation system, designed to considerably reduce movement. Vibrations and noise will also be minimised thanks to an elastically floating superstructure and the installation of high-tech insulation. The vessel will also feature an escalator and a lift to the upper deck, which is unprecedented in this type of vessel.
Luca Fanciulli, Managing Director for V.Ships Leisure, is looking forward to providing crewing services to the new vessel.
“We are delighted to welcome ELEANOR ROOSEVELT under our wing in March. Since 2016, our crewing Team In Monaco, lead by planning manager Sabrina Simonazzi, has built an excellent relationship with BALEÀRIA, and currently provides crewing services to 11 vessels. The addition of ELEANOR ROOSEVELT will further develop the service provided by V.Ships Leisure.”
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT will have a maximum speed of 40 knots, capacity for 1,200 passengers and space for 500 linear metres of trucks and 250 cars, on the vehicle deck. At 123 metres in length and 28 metres wide, she is the longest fast ferry in the world.
