Alison Henriksen appointed Chief Financial Officer and board member at V.Group
London, 07 March 2019 – V.Group, the leading global marine support services provider, today announced the appointment of Alison Henriksen to the position of Chief Financial officer, effective immediately.
In addition to her new role as CFO, Alison will serve as a member of V. Group’s board of directors, joining the group’s governing body which includes V.Group CEO Ian El-Mokadem and chairman John Pattullo.
Alison joins V. Group from Compass Group PLC, the world’s largest catering business, where she most recently was finance director for its UK and Ireland business, having formerly been the finance director for the group’s Australian business. In both countries, Alison played a key role in the transformation of those businesses that led to both growth and efficiency improvements.
Prior to this, Alison held a number of senior finance roles with large international companies including Speciality Fashion Group, Boart Longyear plc, COSi Group and Ernst & Young.
Alison will take over the position from Rod Day, who has served as interim chief financial officer since August 2017.
Commenting on the appointment, Ian El-Mokadem, V.Group CEO, said:
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alison as our new chief financial officer, and to welcoming her to our team. Her wide-ranging commercial experience in finance and strong leadership skills will be a great asset to V.Group and our Board.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Rod Day, who has ably led our finance team in the interim as we sought to find a permanent CFO. During this time, he has been a formidable partner to me, our Board and our executive team, and has proven himself a great champion of our company’s values.
“At V.Group we believe that financial discipline will enable us to continue to invest in the business, create systems, build talent, and drive innovation. We understand that managing our organisation wisely is central to maintaining a healthy business that provides continuity of service to our customers, continuity of employment for our employees and seafarers, and a business that will be here for many decades to come.”
Alison added:
“I am hugely excited to join V.Group and become part of its global endeavour to drive the transformation of the marine industry during a period of such unprecedented change. V.Group’s ambition, together with its strong values, innovative approach to business, and commitment to investing in both great services and talent, make it a truly great company to work for and I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to build its reputation as one of the best run businesses in the industry.”
