The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping is a not-for-profit, independent research and development center working across the energy and shipping sectors with industry, academia and authorities. With Partners, the Center explores viable decarbonisation pathways, facilitates the development and implementation of new energy technologies; builds confidence in new concepts and their supply chains; and accelerates the transition by defining and maturing viable strategic pathways to the required systemic change. The Center is located in Copenhagen but works with partners globally. For more information, please visit https://www.zerocarbonshipping.com/
As an industry the shipping industry has faced many challenges over the decades, but few have required the same level of coordinated response as now. As such, V.Group partnered with the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (the Center) to help the industry transition to a net zero future. As part of our commitment to the partnership, V.Group will be working closely with the team at the Center in Copenhagen to support their work and provide practical guidance regarding safe solutions to achieve decarbonisation aims. The not-for-profit Center is working to provide global standards for green technology and fuels.
As a partner, V.Group intends to support its customers in the use of transition fuels, including green ammonia and hydrogen, in anticipation of a stricter regulatory climate. V.Group makes several of its marine specialists available to the Center in Copenhagen to provide insights about the operational practicality of proposed initiatives in a live setting.
To support this partnership, we have established a new dedicated function, headed by Matt Dunlop, Director, Sustainability & Decarbonisation.
