Following the appointment of Chairman, John Pattullo and non-executive director Jesper Kjaedegaard on 9 March, V.Group is pleased to announce its decision to appoint a new CEO to start in Q4 2017. This decision was taken jointly with Clive Richardson who has successfully led the company since 2009. He will be stepping down from the CEO role before the end of May and will be replaced by Hanne Sorensen who will act as interim CEO until a full time CEO takes over later this year. The search for a new CEO is well advanced and a further announcement in this regard will be made in due course.
Hanne Sorensen has over twenty years of experience in the shipping and wider logistics industry with Maersk, having served amongst other roles as CEO of Maersk Tankers and CEO of Damco. She brings extensive experience in operations and business transformation in the maritime sector and in her new position will help accelerate V.Group’s change programme following the investment in the company made recently by Advent International.
Commenting on the announcement, John Pattullo, Chairman of V.Group, said: “I would like to thank Clive Richardson for the years he has dedicated to building V.Group into the global, market-leading business that it is today. I am also delighted to welcome Hanne Sorensen to V.Group. Her experience will be extremely valuable at a time when the business is making significant investments in people, technology and operations. I am confident in her ability to support the business in this interim period and pave the way for the arrival of the full time CEO in the autumn.”
Haris Kyriakopoulos, a Director at Advent International, said: “On the back of the appointments of John Pattullo and Jesper Kjaedegaard to the board of V.Group, the appointment of a new CEO underlines our commitment to attract new talent to complement the experienced team at V.Group as we pursue the ambition of creating the blue chip, highly professional service provider to ship owners around the world.”
