The Global Graduate Development Programme (GGDP) is an intensive two-year programme designed to introduce bright, ambitious and self-motivated individuals to the operational, commercial and functional areas of the V. businesses.

The aim of the programme is to provide on-the-job learning, which will fully immerse you in the world of shipping.

Opportunities will arise to complete international assignments in locations such as the UK, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Monaco, Denmark, Singapore, and the Philippines.

These assignments will help you gain exposure to the breadth of V.Group as an organisation by spending time in our key business areas including ship management, crew management, marine  services and our corporate functions.

Our technical graduates may spend time on site e.g. vessels, dry docks, shipyards, etc. to obtain ‘first-hand experience’ and an understanding of our technical and crew operations.

You will be given guidance and support to help you grow and develop as an individual, while helping you to establish your long-term career preferences and pathways.

At the end of the two-year programme you will then have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the business, to help you achieve those long-term career goals.

Application Criteria

To join this exciting programme, we’re looking for recent graduates with a strong academic background, which means a Bachelor’s degree or higher (minimum 2:2 degree classification) in a relevant subject.

We welcome marine specific degree subjects such as Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Shipping and Transport Logistics. We also encourage applications from other professional disciplines such as Health and Safety, Accountancy/ Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Marketing, Information and Business Technology subjects and Data Analytics.

Who You Are

A willingness to relocate and work globally for some opportunities is required, to ensure that you gain the best development experience we can offer.

You should be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and work in a fast-paced environment.

You will have a growth mindset with a natural desire to learn, experience new challenges and work with different cultures.

We are looking for candidates who are willing to challenge themselves, to be a little better every day!

Applications are closed for 2023.
