Female Cadets Programme in partnership with INSW

In May last year we launched our Female Cadet Training Programme in partnership with International Seaways, and we reflect on their ambitions ahead International Womens Day this weekend.

This pilot was designed as a structured, carefully managed step toward increasing female representation across our fleet — safely, sustainably, and with long-term career development in mind.

From vessel adaptations and female senior officer mentorship to Positive Workplace Culture training delivered to seafarers and shore colleagues, this has been about more than placements. It’s about building the right environment for mixed crews to thrive.

Ahead of International Women’s Day this weekend,  we catch up directly from the cadets as they share their aspirations during training — the challenges, the opportunities, and what this programme means for their future.
