Our commitment to sustainability
At V.Group we aim to run vessels as safely and as efficiently possible – full stop.
As an industry, merchant shipping has faced many challenges over the decades, but few have required the same level of coordinated response as now. Climate change, decarbonisation, the increased amount of associated government regulation, all in the face of a global pandemic, has required a seismic shift in our approach.
V.Group’s OceansFirst series, aimed at highlighting the challenges facing our industry and discussing potential solutions, ran in November and coincided with COP26 at a time when the world’s focus was on environment and sustainability issues.
Thank you for joining us in November for a series of webinars and discussions aimed at ensuring that shipping can operate in an environmentally friendly, safe, equitable and well governed world.
Driving decarbonisation in the maritime industry
“Climate change, decarbonisation and the increased amount of associated government regulation, all in the face of a global pandemic, has required a seismic shift in the approach of the whole shipping industry.
“As world leaders come together for COP26, we’ve planned a series of webinars that focus on the specific challenges and opportunities facing the maritime sector. As the backbone of international trade, our sector must come together to share knowledge and drive the decarbonisation agenda.”
