People are at the heart of V.Group, which is why our crewing organisation plays such a vital role in our success.
Crew Management is the company’s business unit tasked with recruiting, deploying and managing seafarers, offshore workers and other crew.
We are the industry’s largest wholly owned crew supply network, giving us unrivalled loyalty amongst our seafarers, many of which have been with us since cadetship.
The team, which is fully MLC 2006 compliant, determines the allocation of new vessels and fleets to particular Crew Management offices, based on seafarer availability and client requirements, with the majority of fleets assigned to one of the Global Crew Management offices - Manila, Philippines Mumbai, India, Novorossiysk, Russia and Odessa, Ukraine.
The crewing organisation has played a major role in the overall success of V.Group and its primary brand V.Ships, but changes in technology, systems as well as industry and client requirements means the business unit is continually evolving and fine tuning its operations.
We supply crew for vessels of all types, both where we carry out full technical management as well as directly to client who wish to manage themselves. We will tailor solutions to suit individual needs and requirements.
The focus is always on identifying how we can improve service delivery, such as ensuring stringent recruitment checks are in place to guarantee first-rate seafarer performance standards.
We also look at identifying specific functions that can be streamlined to be more cost effective – supported by our commercial team who can offer client solutions on a ‘cost’ or on ‘lumpsum’ basis.
However, saving money is never to the detriment of quality and safety, which will forever be our main priorities.
As well as its Global Crew Management Offices, the business unit also has Specialist Crew Management Offices in a host of key locations, including Poland, Croatia, Latvia, Monaco, Italy and the Isle of Man, UK.
These centres of excellence provide the company with a competitive advantage in LNG, offshore, chemical and leisure sectors through enhanced capability in specialist crewing markets.
Regional Crew Management Offices in Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, the Baltic States, Ukraine, China, India, Georgia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Indonesia also provide crewing solutions in support of the global and specialist offices.
